Reds 5, Yankees 2: Johnny Cueto pitched seven strong innings to outduel CC Sabathia as visiting Cincinnati won the rubber game against New York.

Ryan Ludwick homered and drove in three runs and Ryan Hanigan added a solo homer as the Reds sent the Yankees to their fifth loss in six games.

Cueto (5-1) bounced back from his first defeat by allowing two runs on eight hits while striking out five and walking two.

Sean Marshall and Logan Ondrusek combined to work a scoreless eighth before new closer Aroldis Chapman finished up for his first save of the season and second of his career.

Sabathia (5-2) was unable to hold a 2-0 lead, giving up three runs in the seventh. He struck out six and walked a season-high five to absorb his second straight loss.

New York's Raul Ibanez broke a scoreless deadlock in the bottom of the sixth with the two-run blast, his ninth homer and sixth in the last 11 games.

Ludwick and Hanigan hit solo homers in the top of the seventh against a tiring Sabathia, who proceeded to give up an infield hit and three straight walks to force in the go-ahead run.

Ludwick provided some insurance with a two-run double in the ninth off Rafael Soriano to make it 5-2.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Ibanez has driven in 15 runs in his last 12 games. Cano preceded Ibanez's homer with his AL-leading 16th double. ... Reds manager Dusty Baker made a move at the back of his bullpen, removing closer Marshall in favor of Cuban fireballer Chapman, who entered Sunday's game having allowed one unearned run in 17 appearances. Ondrusek may also close against right-handed hitters. ... The Yankees will open a three-game series against visiting Kansas City on Monday while the Reds return home to open a four-game set against Atlanta.
