Twins 6, Red Sox 5 (10): Jamey Carroll went 4-for-4 and singled home the go-ahead run in the top of the 10th inning to lift Minnesota to its second straight win over Boston.

Justin Morneau also had four hits with two doubles and two RBIs to atone for a huge error as the Twins rallied from a four-run deficit to win for the sixth time in eight games.

Jeff Gray (6-1) pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings for the win and Jared Burton worked a perfect 10th for his fourth save to send the Red Sox to their third consecutive defeat.

Darin Mastroianni triggered the winning rally with a leadoff double off Vicente Padilla (4-1) before Carroll followed one out later with a single to right-center to plate the decisive run.

Carl Crawford belted a three-run homer among his three hits for Boston, which collected 14 hits but stranded 11 and wound up 3-for-14 with runners in scoring position

Capitalizing on an error by Morneau, Boston pushed across four runs in the third. Following Adrian Gonzalez's RBI single, Morneau dropped a routine inning-ending foul pop off the bat of Crawford, who drilled the very next pitch into the bullpen in right-center to make it 5-1.

Morneau helped make up for the gaffe with a two-run single in Minnesota's four-run fifth inning that deadlocked the score at 5-5.

Red Sox left-hander Felix Doubront allowed five runs on eight hits and four walks in five innings. Twins lefty Brian Duensing lasted six innings and gave up five runs - two earned - on 10 hits.

Minnesota second baseman Ben Revere had a pair of hits to extend his hitting streak to a career-high 17 games.
