Red Sox 5, Phillies 1: Josh Beckett allowed one run in 7 2/3 innings to win his second straight start and visiting Boston won the rubber game of the series against Philadelphia.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia, playing with 12 stitches in his ear, hit a three-run homer and Mike Aviles went deep for the third consecutive game to power the Red Sox to their eighth win in 10 games.

Beckett (4-4) allowed one run on seven hits in his second consecutive dominant effort. He walked two and struck out five.

Phillies starter Cliff Lee (0-2) gave up a season-high five runs in seven innings to remain winless. He struck out six and walked one to fall to 3-5 lifetime against the Red Sox.

Aviles homered to lead off the game for the second day in a row and added an RBI single in the second for a 2-0 lead before Saltalamacchia clubbed his seventh homer in the third for a 5-0 cushion.

Beckett carried a shutout into the eighth before Juan Pierre's sacrifice fly snapped his scoreless streak at 14 2/3 innings.

Vicente Padilla escaped a bases-loaded jam in the eighth to end the final threat for the Phillies, who lost their second straight following a six-game winning streak.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Red Sox hit nine home runs in the series. ... Aviles became the first Boston player to hit leadoff homers in back-to-back games since Harry Hooper in 1913. He extended his hitting streak to six games and is two shy of his career homer total set with Kansas City in 2008. ... Lee retired 11 straight batters and 14 of 15 after the Red Sox pushed across the three runs in the third. ... Boston will close out its eight-game road trip with three games in Baltimore starting Monday. The Phillies will host Washington on Monday in the opener of a three-game set.
