Orioles 12, Pirates 6
: Steve Pearce homered and drove in five runs and Matt Wieters went 4-for-5 with five RBIs as host Baltimore completed a three-game interleague sweep.

Mark Reynolds also went 4-for-5 with a homer, two RBIs and three runs scored and Chris Davis had two hits and crossed the plate three times for the Orioles, who have won a season high-tying five straight games.

Baltimore, which recorded 16 hits, pounced on Pittsburgh starter Erik Bedard (4-7) for four runs in the first inning, with Pearce highlighting the rally with a two-run double. Wieters, who began the uprising with an RBI single, drove in a run in the third with a ground-rule double to give the Orioles a 5-0 cushion.

Pearce followed Wieters' two-run single in the fourth with a three-run homer, his first of the season. Wieters added an RBI double in the sixth and Reynolds launched a solo shot in the eighth for Baltimore's final run.

Tommy Hunter (3-3) held Pittsburgh hitless through the first four innings before allowing five runs over the next two frames. The right-hander yielded seven hits and struck out five without a walk, and registered his first victory since April 24 against Toronto.

Bedard was battered for seven runs and eight hits in just 3 1/3 innings. The former Oriole has lost three straight on the road.

Rod Barajas belted a three-run homer for the Pirates, who have lost three in a row for the first time since a five-game slide from April 10-14.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hunter had gone 0-2 over his previous seven starts. ... With eight doubles and two homers on Thursday, Baltimore has collected 27 extra-base hits over its last six games. ... LF Steve Tolleson and 3B Robert Andino were the only starters in the Orioles' lineup without a hit. ... The Pirates will be without Charlie Morton for the rest of the season as the right-hander underwent surgery to repair his ulnar collateral ligament. The 28-year-old, who last pitched on May 29, went 2-6 with a 4.65 ERA in nine starts.
