Orioles 6, Phillies 4 (12): Adam Jones belted a walk-off two-run homer in the 12th inning as host Baltimore ended a three-game losing skid.
After Chris Davis led off the frame with a walk, Jones deposited an offering from B.J. Rosenberg (0-1) over the wall in center field. The victory was Baltimore's league-best eighth in extra innings this season while Philadelphia suffered its league-high sixth walk-off loss.
Rosenberg had been called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley prior to the game and was making his major-league debut.
Luis Ayala (2-1) allowed one hit in one inning to pick up the victory for the Orioles, who won for just the fourth time in 13 games.
With runners on first and second and two outs in the seventh inning, Matt Wieters was able to get around on a high fastball from reliever Jake Diekman and lift it into shallow right center. J.J. Hardy, who was running on contact, cruised home to give Baltimore a 4-3 lead.
After going 3-for-5 in Friday's 9-6 triumph, veteran Jim Thome continued his solid series by belting his first homer of the season and 605th career. The 41-year-old then added an RBI single in the eighth inning to tie the game at 4-4.
Hunter Pence went 4-for-5 and Jimmy Rollins and Hector Luna added solo homers for the Phillies, who have dropped seven of their last eight games.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Baltimore starter Tommy Hunter, who was promoted from Triple-A Norfolk prior to the game, allowed three runs on eight hits in seven innings. ... The Orioles demoted opening-day starter Jake Arrieta (2-8, 6.32 ERA) to the bullpen, one day after dropping his sixth straight decision. He permitted career highs in runs (nine) and hits (11) in Friday's 9-6 loss to the Phillies. ... Playing on his 32nd birthday, Philadelphia second baseman Mike Fontenot went 0-for-5 with an error.
