Andres Torres had three hits, two RBIs and scored three times as San Francisco increased its lead in the National League West to 4 1/2 games over Arizona.

Torres had a run-scoring single in the fifth and an RBI double in the seventh.

Pablo Sandoval, whose 22-game hitting streak came to an end, had a sacrifice fly in the first and Cody Ross’ leadoff homer in the second gave the Giants an early 2-0 lead.

San Diego manufactured a run in the fourth when Alberto Gonzalez walked and moved to third on back-to-back wild pitches by Lincecum, and scored on Orlando Hudson’s infield out.

San Francisco relievers Jeremy Affeldt, Sergio Romo and Guillermo Mota combined for three scoreless innings of one-hit relief.

Padres starter Dustin Moseley (2-9) gave up four runs and seven hits in six innings.
