Ian Kennedy set a career high in wins, Brandon Allen hit a three-run homer and the Arizona Diamondbacks ended a three-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday night.

Dodgers' All-Star Matt Kemp moved into a tie with St. Louis’ Lance Berkman for the National League home run lead with his 24th, but it wasn’t enough as Los Angeles had its season-best five-game winning streak snapped.

The Dodgers were slowed by Kennedy (10-3), who surpassed his previous high of nine wins set last season - his first as a full-time starter. The righthander allowed two runs and five hits in seven innings.

Kemp belted a solo homer in the second, but Allen responded in the bottom of the inning. Allen, a 6-foot-2, 235-pound slugger who was called up on from Triple A Reno on Friday, gave the Diamondbacks the lead by ripping a 3-2 fastball from Hiroki Kuroda (6-11) deep into the right field seats.

Kennedy walked in a run in the fifth, but escaped the jam by getting All-Star Andre Ethier to pop out.

Joe Patterson and Sam Demel combined to work the eighth, and David Hernandez pitched the ninth for his eighth save in 10 chances.
