The San Diego Padres' offensive woes continued, but Tim Stauffer made sure the minimal output was enough, shutting down the Washington Nationals for seven innings to lead the Padres to a 2-1 win Saturday at Nationals Park.

The Padres have scored only 15 runs in their past 11 games -- and they haven't topped three runs in any game during that span. That didn't change Saturday, as both the Padres' runs scored in the fourth, when rookie Blake Tekotte tripled home a run and scored on Kyle Phillips' single.

But Stauffer (1-3) gave San Diego seven innings of one-run ball -- his seventh quality start in 11 outings this season -- to help the Padres to their second win in eight games. Mike Adams and Heath Bell each pitched a scoreless inning to finish off the five-hitter, with Bell earning his 11th save.

Nationals starter Jordan Zimmermann (2-6) turned in his fifth consecutive quality start, allowing two runs over six innings, but he has only one win during that stretch.

Michael Morse went 1-for-4 and grounded into a game-ending double play for Washington, snapping a streak of four consecutive games with a home run.

Laynce Nix hit his seventh home run for the Nationals, who have lost six of seven.
