Kevin Correia allowed four hits to the most prolific offense in the National League and seven players had at least two hits as the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates earned a 9-3 triumph over the Cincinnati Reds on Monday.

Andrew McCutchen, Matt Diaz and Steve Pearce drove in two runs apiece for the Pirates, who took three of four from the Reds to move back to .500 at 8-8.

Correia (3-1) allowed a leadoff double in the second to Scott Rolen, who scored after a passed ball and a throwing error. Correia did not allow another hit until Paul Janish’s two-out single in the eighth.

The righthander surrendered a two-run homer to Chris Heisey in the bottom of the ninth, and struck out five and walked two in his second career complete game.

Pittsburgh jumped on Travis Wood (1-2) for three runs in the first inning and opened it up in the fourth when McCutchen doubled in two runs to spark a five-run frame.

Wood lasted 3 1/3 innings and was charged with six runs on eight hits.
