Zack Greinke took a no-hitter into the fifth inning, and Matt Maloney proved to be an ineffective replacement for Johnny Cueto as the Milwaukee Brewers completed a three-game sweep with an 8-1 victory over the host Cincinnati Reds on Sunday.

Prince Fielder and Carlos Gomez each hit two-run homers for the Brewers, who lowered their magic number to clinch the National league Central to four.

With his offense humming along, Greinke (15-6) cruised, facing the minimum through the first four innings before surrendering a two-out single and then a run in the fifth. That was Greinke’s only spot of trouble, as he ended up striking out 10 and yielding two hits in seven innings.

Cueto will probably miss the rest of the season due to a lat strain suffered earlier in the week, so the Reds gave Maloney the first opportunity to step in for the majors’ ERA leader. Maloney (0-3) recorded five outs, allowing seven runs - six earned - and nine hits.

Gomez followed Corey Hart’s leadoff double in the first with his seventh blast and, after Ryan Braun singled, Fielder made it four straight hits by sending his 34th homer deep down the right-field line.
