Jim Thome belted his 595th career home run and Danny Valencia capped a four-run seventh inning with a two-run single as the Minnesota Twins posted a 9-7 come-from-behind victory over the visiting Milwaukee Brewers Sunday.

Michael Cuddyer drove in two runs and rookie Rene Tosoni added a three-run homer, helping the Twins overcome a 6-1 deficit less than 24 hours after Milwaukee rallied from a 7-0 hole.

Matt Capps, who blew his sixth save of the season on Saturday, was pulled in the ninth inning after allowing consecutive hits to Rickie Weeks and Corey Hart. Glen Perkins entered and struck out Prince Fielder on three pitches, then fanned pinch-hitter Casey McGehee for his first career save.

Milwaukee’s collapse wrapped up a disappointing 1-5 road trip, which dropped its record to 16-29 away from home. The Brewers were without newly minted four-time All-Star Ryan Braun, who sat out with a strained right calf. His replacement, Mark Kotsay, homered and drove in three runs but also committed a costly error.

With the Twins trailing 7-6, Valencia came up with the bases loaded and two outs after Kameron Loe (2-7) walked Thome. Valencia ripped an 0-1 sinker to left field that caromed off Kotsay’s glove and rolled just shy of the warning track, allowing all three runs to score.

Phil Dumatrait (1-1) threw a hitless seventh for the win.
