David Wright hit a pair of long home runs as the visiting New York Mets broke a six-game losing streak with a 12-2 win over the Atlanta Braves on Friday.

It was the worst home loss of the season for Atlanta, which surrendered 20 hits. The Braves saw their NL wild card lead shrink to 3 1/2 games over St. Louis after the Cardinals got past the Philadelphia Phillies 4-2 in 11 innings.

Wright, who had not hit a home run since Sept. 2, cranked a two-run shot in the first inning off Atlanta starter Derek Lowe (9-15), who allowed nine hits and six runs in 2 1/3 innings. Wright's second of the night and 14th of the year was a three-run blast off Julio Teheran in the fourth inning.

Wright now has 27 career homers against Atlanta, more than any other opponent.

Mets starter Chris Capuano (11-12) allowed two runs in five innings while striking out six.
