Josh Tomlin pitched into the seventh inning while Carlos Santana homered and drove in two runs, leading the Cleveland Indians to a 5-1 home win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night.

The Indians won for only the fourth time in their last 15 contests, while the Pirates saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.

Travis Hafner was playing for the first time since injuring an oblique muscle on May 18. He had an RBI double in the eighth inning.

Tomlin (8-4) allowed one run in 6 2/3 innings. Vinnie Pestano and Tony Sipp blanked the Pirates over the final 2 1/3 innings to preserve the win.

The Indians scored in the third when Pirates starter Kevin Correia (8-6) committed a balk with the bases loaded. Santana's solo homer in the fourth gave Cleveland a 2-0 lead and broke his 4-for-30 slump. He also had an RBI single in the eighth for his third hit of the game.

Correia allowed two runs in 5 2/3 innings and lost for only the second time in nine decisions on the road.

Xavier Paul's RBI single in the sixth drove in Pittsburgh's only run.

Indians first baseman Matt LaPorta left the game in the third inning after injuring his right leg running the bases.
