Edwin Encarnacion hit a two-run homer and Brandon Morrow set a season high with 11 strikeouts as the Toronto Blue Jays prevailed 7-3 over the visiting Texas Rangers on Sunday.

More than 45,000 fans turned out to honor Hall of Fame second baseman Roberto Alomar, who had his No. 12 jersey lifted to the Rogers Centre rafters in a pregame ceremony.

The half-hour delay didn't seem to bother the Blue Jays. Encarnacion's blast to left field off Rangers starter C.J. Wilson (10-5) gave Toronto an early 2-0 lead, and the Jays were never challenged the rest of the way as they took two of three from the visiting Rangers.

Colby Rasmus was Toronto's other offensive star, recording his first two hits since joining the Blue Jays from St. Louis in a trade earlier in the week. Rasmus drove in a pair with a double to deep center field in Toronto's three-run fourth inning, chasing Wilson from the game.

Morrow (8-5) kept Texas off-balance for most of the game, allowing just two runs on six hits over seven innings for his sixth victory in seven decisions dating back to June 18.

Wilson was rocked for seven runs in just 3 2/3 innings and has now allowed 13 runs in his last two starts, a span of 7 2/3 frames.

Mike Napoli led Texas at the plate with an RBI single and a run-scoring double. Josh Hamilton added a pair of hits and scored twice.
