Brandon Morrow pitched shutout ball into the seventh inning for the first time all season as the Toronto Blue Jays cruised past the host Cincinnati Reds 4-0 Saturday night.

Morrow (3-4), who came into the game with a career-worst 5.63 ERA, scattered five hits over 6 1/3 solid innings as the Blue Jays won for the fourth time in their last five games. The hard-throwing righthander improved his road ERA for the season to 1.80, well ahead of his 8.13 mark at the Rogers Centre.

Backup catcher Jose Molina had the big blow for Toronto, belting a solo homer in the top of the fourth inning off losing pitcher Edinson Volquez (4-3). Molina and Jose Bautista each finished with a pair of hits to pace the Jays.

The Reds' best chance to strike came when they the bases loaded in the seventh inning, but Jays reliever Jason Frasor induced pinch-hitter Edgar Renteria to fly out to right field, ending the threat.

Volquez was tagged for four runs on seven hits over five innings. He walked two and struck out eight, his highest total since May 17.
