Jesse Litsch tossed 6 1/3 strong innings, and Corey Patterson had three hits and two RBIs as the Toronto Blue Jays opened a six-game homestand with a 7-4 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Friday.

Adam Lind and J.P. Arencibia each recorded two hits and two RBIs, while Juan Rivera went 3-for-4 and drove in a run for the Blue Jays, who improved to 7-10 at home.

Litsch (3-2) rebounded from a rough outing against the New York Yankees on Sunday, and allowed one run and four hits with three walks in 6 1/3 innings. The righthander also set a career high with nine strikeouts.

Frank Francisco retired the only batter he faced in the ninth for his second save in as many chances.

After Brennan Boesch was thrown out at the plate by left fielder Rivera to end the top of the first, Toronto gave Litsch all the support he needed in the bottom half.

With one out, Lind, Rivera and Arencibia hit consecutive RBI singles for a 3-0 lead. Lind's single extended his hitting streak to 11 games.

Arencibia added a run-scoring double in the third, Lind hit a solo homer in the seventh and Patterson delivered a two-run double in the eighth.

Tigers starter Phil Coke (1-5) lasted six innings, and surrendered four runs and 11 hits.

Jhonny Peralta had two hits and an RBI for Detroit, which rallied for three runs in the ninth but had its three-game winning streak.
