Ben Revere continued his hot hitting, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs in the Minnesota Twins’ 6-2 win over the host Chicago White Sox on Thursday in the opener of a four-game series at U.S. Cellular Field.

Revere singled in Tsuyoshi Nishioka in the second and fourth innings to spark the Minnesota offense. Revere is now 6-for-14 over his last three games and raised his average to .279.

Joe Mauer, making his major league debut at first base, was 3-for-5 with two RBIs.

Twins starter Carl Pavano (6-6) went seven innings and allowed two runs on six hits. His biggest mistake was a two-run homer to Mark Teahen, his third. It was Pavano's eighth career win against the White Sox.

The losing pitcher was Philip Humber (8-5), who allowed six runs and 11 hits in 3 2/3 innings. He had allowed no more than four runs in 15 previous starts.
