Josh Reddick hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the sixth inning and David Ortiz also homered and drove in two runs as the Boston Red Sox rallied for a 6-4 victory over the host Seattle Mariners on Friday.

Jed Lowrie also went deep and John Lackey posted his sixth straight win for the Red Sox, who improved to an American League-best 36-22 on the road.

After Lowrie drew Boston within 4-3 with a leadoff blast in the fifth, Reddick belted his sixth shot of the season an inning later to put the Red Sox ahead for good.

Ortiz opened the second with his 24th homer and added an RBI single in the seventh. The slugger is hitting .550 (11-for-20) over his last five games with three blasts and seven RBIs.

Lackey (11-8) allowed four runs and 10 hits over six innings to extend his winning streak against Seattle to six games. Jonathan Papelbon worked a scoreless ninth for his 27th save in 28 chances.

The Mariners' Blake Beavan (3-3) yielded six runs over 6 1/3 innings. The rookie had surrendered three runs or less in each of his first six career outings.

Mike Carp extended his hitting streak to 12 games with three hits and three RBIs for Seattle, which lost first baseman Justin Smoak to a fractured nose. Smoak, who had not played since Aug. 2 because of a thumb injury, departed in the second inning after being hit by Jarrod Saltalamacchia's bad-hop grounder.
