Asdrubal Cabrera continued his torrid stretch with three hits, including a home run and a go-ahead RBI double with two outs in the eighth inning, to lift the Cleveland Indians to a 3-2 win over the Boston Red Sox at Jacobs Field Monday night.

Cabrera, who went 5-for-5 with two homers and five RBIs on Sunday, was 3-for-4 with two more RBIs as Cleveland won its fourth straight game against Boston this season and became the first team in the majors to reach 30 wins on the season.

The Red Sox entered the eighth inning with a 2-1 lead, as Clay Buchholz limited the Indians to four hits in 7 1/3 innings. But Cleveland got to reliever Daniel Bard (1-4) for a pair of two-out hits to take a 3-2 lead. Michael Brantley tied the game with a single to right before Cabrera hammered a ball off the left field wall to score Brantley.

Joe Smith (2-1) faced one batter and got the win and Chris Perez pitched the ninth for his 13th save of the season.

Boston took a 1-0 lead in the third inning on an RBI single by Dustin Pedroia. Cleveland tied it on Cabrera’s 10th homer of the season to lead off the fourth inning.
Carl Crawford’s second homer of the season gave Boston a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning.

Pedroia left the game after injuring his left leg when he tripped over second base in the eighth inning.

The game was delayed an hour at the start by rain and played in a steady rain from the fifth inning on.
