Ike Davis went 4-for-4 with three RBIs and Mike Pelfrey tossed 7 1/3 impressive innings as the New York Mets sweated out a 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.

Jose Reyes homered and Jesus Feliciano had two hits and scored twice for the Mets, who have outscored the Phillies, 21-3, in five wins at Citi Field this season.

Davis began his third career four-hit performance in the first inning with an RBI double and Reyes belted a leadoff home run in the third to stake Pelfrey to a 2-0 lead. David Wright was thrown out at home by right fielder Jayson Werth to end the sixth and prevent New York from increasing the advantage, but it managed to do the job an inning later.

With two outs, Feliciano and Angel Pagan singled before Wright was walked intentionally by Jose Contreras to load the bases. Davis greeted J.C. Romero with a single up the middle, plating two for a 4-0 bulge.

That was enough for Pelfrey (14-9), who limited Philadelphia to four singles before allowing a one-out double in the eighth by pinch-hitter Ross Gload. Shane Victorino followed with an RBI single, ending the afternoon for Pelfrey, who yielded two runs and six hits with five strikeouts.

Ryan Howard hit a two-run single off Pedro Feliciano to draw the Phillies within a run.

Manny Acosta struck out Werth to end the inning and Hisanori Takahashi stranded the tying run at third in the ninth for his sixth save in as many opportunities.

Kyle Kendrick (9-9) suffered his fourth loss in five starts despite allowing just two runs and five hits in five innings. The right-hander, who walked two and struck out one, fell to 6-3 on the road and 1-2 against the Mets this season.

Raul Ibanez recorded two hits for the Phillies, who lost for just the fourth time in 16 games.
