Madison Bumgarner threw eight scoreless innings for his first major league win to lead the San Francisco Giants to a 6-1 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday.

Travis Ishikawa had two RBIs and rookie Buster Posey drove in a run for the Giants, who have won two straight for the first time in nearly a month.

They got a superb start out of the 20-year-old Bumgarner (1-2), who was the 10th overall pick in the 2007 draft.

Bumgarner allowed just three hits with five strikeouts and three walks in his fourth career start. The left-hander threw 73 of 115 pitches for strikes.

Veteran Randy Wolf (6-8) matched Bumgarner pitch-for-pitch before the Giants broke open a scoreless game with five runs in the sixth.

Andres Torres and Freddy Sanchez each walked to start the frame and later scored on shortstop Craig Counsell’s throwing error. Ishikawa’s two-run single made it 4-0 and Bumgarner drove in his first career run with a single to right.

Wolf allowed five runs – one earned - on four hits in seven innings. He tied a season-high with eight strikeouts and walked four.

Brewers All-Star Corey Hart went 0-for-4, ending his 20-game hitting streak. Joe Inglett drove in Milwaukee's lone run with a pinch-hit single in the ninth.
