David Wright scored on a wild pitch in the top of the ninth inning and Jeff Francoeur added an RBI triple as the New York Mets posted a 3-1 victory over the Houston Astros.

Carlos Beltran homered and scored twice while Wright collected three hits for the Mets, who had scored a total of two runs in their previous three games.

With one out in the ninth, Wright singled and went to third on a base hit by Beltran. Matt Lindstrom (2-4) uncorked a wild pitch during Francoeur's at-bat, allowing Wright to cross the plate and snap a 1-1 tie.

Francoeur then drilled a pitch to left-center field, scoring Beltran easily from second base.

Pedro Feliciano (3-6) benefited from the late rally after recording the final out of the eighth and Hisanori Takahashi tossed a perfect ninth for his first major league save.

New York grabbed the lead in the fourth inning when Carlos Beltran belted a first-pitch fastball from Wandy Rodriguez over the wall in left field for his second homer of the year.

The Astros answered two frames later as Jason Michaels hit a two-out single off Jonathon Niese and scored on rookie Chris Johnson's double.

Despite not figuring in the decision, Rodriguez extended his streak of consecutive starts without allowing more than one earned run to five. The left-hander, who yielded one run and four hits in seven innings, has surrendered less than two earned runs in eight of his last 10 outings.
