Casey McGehee homered and drove in four runs and Prince Fielder added five RBIs as the Milwaukee Brewers pounded out 26 hits en route to an 18-1 thrashing of the Chicago Cubs on Monday.

Yovani Gallardo (10-5) allowed two hits and struck out 12 in six strong innings while Fielder and Ryan Braun each recorded five hits for the Brewers, who managed a total of two runs while getting swept by the Houston Astros in a three-game series over the weekend.

Randy Wells (5-9) started for the Cubs and allowed one hit through the first three innings before unraveling in the fourth. The right-hander allowed six straight hits - including McGehee’s three-run blast - before recording an out in the frame, and then surrendered a one-out, two-run double to Rickie Weeks to cap a five-run frame.

Wells was no better in the fifth, surrendering back-to-back singles to open the frame before being removed. Jason Berg came on in relief and allowed three hits and a walk as Milwaukee tacked on five more runs. Alcides Escobar, Corey Hart and Braun each had RBI hits in the inning.

Milwaukee added another run in the sixth, two more in the seventh, three in the eighth - on a bases loaded double by Fielder - and two more in the ninth to send Chicago to its sixth straight loss.
