Melky Cabrera and Omar Infante hit back-to-back home runs in the seventh inning and the Atlanta bullpen threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings in relief of Tommy Hanson, helping the Braves hold on for a 4-2 win over the New York Mets on Friday.
Infante went 4-for-5 and scored twice and Cabrera was 3-for-5 with two runs for the Braves, who moved four games ahead of New York in the NL East.
Eric O'Flaherty (3-1) picked up the win by getting Jesus Felicano to ground out and strand two runners in scoring position in the sixth, setting the tone for the bullpen. Jonny Venters worked a perfect seventh, Takashi Saito worked out of trouble in a scoreless eighth and Billy Wagner retired the side in order in the ninth for his 20th save.
Hanson allowed two runs on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings in the no-decision.
With things tied 2-2 in the seventh, Cabrera and Infante connected for consecutive blasts against Mets starter R.A. Dickey to put Atlanta ahead for good.
Dickey (6-2) allowed four runs - three earned - on nine hits over 6 2/3 innings.
Angel Pagan had two hits for the Mets and Jose Reyes and David Wright each drove in runs.
