Jamie Moyer pitched six strong innings and the Philadelphia Phillies broke out of their offensive slumber in an 8-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves in the finale of a three-game series Thursday night.

Moyer (2-1) turned in his best outing of the young season, surrendering just a pair of unearned runs and four hits in recording his 260th career victory.

Juan Castro had three hits and Shane Victorino drove in two runs for the Phillies, who finished with 12 hits to end a mini-slump that saw them score just six runs in their past four games after ringing up 77 in the season’s first 10 contests.

Philadelphia jumped on Braves starter Derek Lowe for five runs in the first three innings and cruised from there to improve to 7-2 on the road.

Lowe (3-1) allowed six hits and five runs, striking out three and walking two in five innings. It was his first loss of the season and first defeat at the hands of the Phillies since the 1998 season, when he was with Boston.

Second baseman Martin Prado went 3-for-5 for Atlanta to boost his average to a gaudy .417
