Nate McLouth belted a leadoff home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to cap a stunning comeback as the Atlanta Braves squeezed out a 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night.

McLouth’s blast off reliever Jose Contreras (0-1) gave the Braves their sixth come-from-behind victory of the season and sent the Phillies to their third consecutive defeat.

The Braves trailed 3-0 entering the ninth inning and were down to their last out before staging a dramatic rally against Phillies closer Ryan Madson.

Troy Glaus launched a two-out, two-run home run to cut the deficit to 3-2 and rookie phenom Jason Heyward followed with a solo shot to tie it at 3-3 and force extra innings.

Braves closer Billy Wagner (1-0) pitched a scoreless top of the 10th for the victory.

Madson’s implosion ruined a superb effort by Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick, who pitched eight scoreless innings and limited Atlanta to four hits.

Second baseman Chase Utley had a pair of hits and two RBIs and figured in all the scoring for the Phillies in the opener of their three-city, nine-game road trip.

Martin Prado continued his hot start for the Braves, going 2-for-4 to hike his average to .431.
