Adam LaRoche hit a three-run homer and Barry Enright pitched seven shutout innings as the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks blanked the San Francisco Giants 6-0 on Friday night.
LaRoche’s homer was Arizona’s only hit in the first inning off Tim Lincecum, who suffered his fifth consecutive defeat. Stephen Drew and Chris Young drew walks in the frame prior to LaRoche’s 22nd blast of the season.
Enright (5-2) allowed six hits while winning his fourth consecutive decision. The right-hander struck out four and walked two.
Blaine Boyer pitched a scoreless eighth and D.J. Carrasco handled the ninth.
Arizona scored in the third inning on Drew’s triple and a sacrifice fly by Justin Upton. Kelly Johnson smacked a two-run double in the ninth, his third hit of the contest.
Lincecum (11-9) gave up four runs and five hits in six innings. He struck out six and walked four.
San Francisco was blanked on just seven hits after racking up 38 runs and 53 hits in a three-game series against the Cincinnati Reds.
