Alex Gonzalez’s three-run homer in the 12th inning lifted the surging Toronto Blue Jays to a 7-4 win over the Chicago White Sox on Friday night.

The victory was the sixth straight for the Blue Jays, who improved to 11-3 on the road this season.

After Vernon Wells walked and Lyle Overbay singled with two outs in the 12th, Gonzalez followed with his ninth home run of the season off J.J. Putz (0-2).

John Buck homered twice for the Blue Jays, who lead the majors in home runs. Buck, who now has seven homers and hit three in a game against the Oakland Athletics just over a week ago, snapped a 3-3 tie in the top of the ninth with a solo home run to right field.

Chicago got even when A.J Pierzynski homered off Kevin Gregg to lead off the bottom of the ninth.

It was Gregg’s first blown save of the season and the first time he’s allowed a run in his last nine outings. Gregg later got out of a jam in the frame, getting Juan Pierre to pop out on a bunt attempt with a runner on third and two outs.

Scott Downs (1-3) got the win, working the final two innings for the Blue Jays.

Alex Rios and Mark Kotsay also homered for the White Sox.
